Every industry classification code, SBA size threshold, tax activity code, and format validator published on EntityCodes.org is ingested strictly from official public-domain government registers or open international standards body manuals.

2. Transitive Mapping & Integrity Verification

Crosswalk Mappings between historical Standard Industrial Classification (SIC 1987) codes and modern North American Industry Classification System (NAICS 2022) codes are constructed using a multi-stage Census concordance pipeline.

• Historical Concordance Chaining: We trace codes transitively across all historical Census revision files (1987 → 1997 → 2002 → 2007 → 2012 → 2017 → 2022).
• Hop Provenance: Every mapped relationship explicitly identifies whether it represents a 1-to-1 direct mapping, a 1-to-many split, or a many-to-1 rollup.
• Orphan Verification: We generate and publish unmapped code reports to ensure complete transparency where no concordance exists. Details are documented on our Methodology Page.

3. Data Update Cadence

Our editorial team monitors federal agency publications and updates the registry on the following schedule:

• NAICS Taxonomies: Re-compiled every five years following the U.S. Economic Classification Policy Committee (ECPC) Census release schedule.
• SBA Size Standards: Monitored monthly for inflation adjustments and emergency rules published in Title 13 CFR § 121.201 of the Federal Register.
• Format & Identifier Checksums: Validated continuously against ISO 7064 Mod 97-10 algorithms (LEI), Crockford Base32 specifications (UEI), and DLA facility rules (CAGE).

4. Error Reporting & Corrections Process

Despite rigorous automated integrity assertions, regulatory registers and concordance tables may contain complex edge cases. We welcome corrections from corporate attorneys, CPAs, federal contracting officers, and data users.
